ABOUT
Michael was a three year letter winner at Girard High School, twice earning All-MVC honors. His .496 batting average in 1988 ranked him first in the conference. He was a two time selection to the All-Trumbull County team and given a full baseball scholarship to the University of Akron. At Akron, Mike was a four year letter winner and first team All-MidContinent Conference Selection. He was elected as Akrons' Defensive Player of the Year and MVP in 1992 and 1993. His .343 batting average ranks him 8th all-time and he also ranks in the top ten four other offensive categories all-time at Akron. He was a member of the Continental Championship Squad. Designed a minor league contract with the St. Louis Cardinals in '93. He was a 1994 1st team selection of the New York Penn League.
