ABOUT

He emerged as a key leader during the late 80s and early 90s, donning the Girard High football jersey. Despite his commitments across four sports during high school, this diverse engagement served as a foundation for his future successes as a devoted servant to his nation. He played an instrumental role across the spectrum of Girard sports, amassing an impressive tally of eleven varsity letters. His participation spanned baseball and basketball with two letters each, alongside four in track; however, it was football that became his platform for excellence, showcased through his three-year stint as a starter on both offense and defense. As an Indian, he commanded the football field as an assertive ball carrier and an exceptional linebacker, earning due recognition. He secured two-time selections as a 1st Team All-MVC running back, further being chosen as an IS Team All-Trumbull County standout in both his junior and senior years. Notably, his senior season stood out as he amassed over 1,500 rushing yards, propelling the Indians' offensive drive and tallying 19 touchdowns. His distinction extended beyond the confines of Girard, being nominated for the Trumbull County Player of the Year award, an annual accolade celebrating the Valley's best. During that same year, his coach Joe Jeswald was recognized as the Division III Coach of the Year, and his teammates Rusty Morgan and Mike Kerrigan secured 2nd Team All-Ohio selections. Most notably, his exceptional senior season culminated in a 1st Team All-Ohio Division III designation in 1991. He continued to build his football career over two years at Youngstown State University, primarily contributing to special teams and playing a role in the National Runner-up team of 1992 and the subsequent National Championship team of 1993. His significant contributions didn't stop there; he embarked on a journey of greater purpose, dedicating four years to the United States Marine Corps in roles ranging from the Marine's Supply and Logistics Division to an Army scrub nurse. Currently, he's found his place as a cardiovascular surgical nurse in the state of Washington, cementing a legacy that extends far beyond the athletic arena.
