A three year letter winner in football and track. Gathered first team AlI-Steel Valley honors at halfback and first team All-Trumbull County in 1958. One of the most powerful, yet speedy runners in GHS history. He broke the single season rushing record (previously set by Mel Triplett in 1949, 880 yards) with his 936 yards rushing in 1958. A straight "A" student, class valedictorian and Eagle Scout, his seven yards per carry average and nine touchdowns ranked as one of the finest seasons to date. Honored with the GHSfootball Most Valuable Player Award presented by the IFH Club at their first ever football banquet.
