Outstanding 3 year letter winner as an interior lineman on the football team. Was named to the All County First Team his senior year. Also played basketball and earned 2 letters at GHS. Attended YSU, University of Cincinnati, and OSU where he majored in engineering. Went on to establish Syro Steel as one of the more prominent companies in the Mahoning Valley. Has been a long-time benefactor for the youth of Girard. Contributing as a sponsor of city recreational leagues as well as high school athletics. Also the founder of the Syak Academic Scholarship Fund.
