His time at Girard High School may have been fleeting, but it was undoubtedly marked by resilience, inspiration, tenacity, and a true embodiment of the Girard Football spirit. Throughout his senior year, he left an indelible mark on the football record books with a season of remarkable statistics from the quarterback position. From his very first game as the Indian signal caller, he showcased his prowess by throwing for an impressive 280 yards and five touchdown passes in a thrilling 35-28 victory over cross-town rival Niles. This performance ignited a record-breaking journey, aimed at surpassing single-season county and state-wide passing records. In the span of the 2004 season, consisting of only 10 games, he exhibited exceptional accuracy by completing 220 of his 318 passing attempts, boasting a remarkable 70 percent completion rate. During that period, he achieved an awe-inspiring feat by throwing for 3,044 yards—a single-season school record and a Trumbull County record at the time—alongside an impressive 27 touchdowns. His exceptional passing prowess positioned him as the second-highest passer in the state of Ohio, solidifying his name amongst the top quarterbacks, and one of only two to surpass 3,000 passing yards in 2004. His primary targets, Ryan Collins and Ryan Tolone, made the most of his throws, catching 143 of his 220 completions that season. Notably, Collins led the state with an outstanding 79 receptions and 1,437 receiving yards. Amidst this unforgettable senior season, his exceptional achievements were met with well-deserved recognition. He secured a spot on the 1st Team All-Trumbull Athletic Conference, IS Team All-Trumbull County, and IS Team All-Northeast Inland District. Furthermore, his outstanding performance earned him a prestigious selection to the 2nd Team All-Ohio, solidifying his place among the best in the state.
