Four year football star at GHS. Earned 1st team All-Steel Valley Conference honors as a halfback in 1956 & 1957. Four-year letterman at Miami, 0. Achieved 2nd team All-Mid- American Conference honors as a junior and was a 1st team All-MAC halfback his senior season. As a senior, he was selected team captain and team MVPfor his leadership and ability. Drafted by the St. Louis Cardinals of the NFL in 1962 and played 11 full seasons with the Cardinals, New York Giants and Detroit Lions.
